Gig Harbor Waterproofing and Restoration
Challenge
A small basement is a perfect place for the furnace, storage, and a wine cellar, until it floods! We received a call from a couple in Gig Harbor, Washington regarding a flooded basement with standing water. This area, while not large performed many functions for the couple, until it ground water intrusion rendered it useless. An inspection noted ground water intrusion around the perimeter and a floor crack running down the center of the basement slab. We devised a solution using our patented WaterGuard System around the inside perimeter, our backless WaterGuard under the floor crack, and a SuperSump sump pump system along with an UltraSump Battery backup system. The sump pump was located under the stairs as to be out from underfoot and keep all the floor area usable.
Solution
After the waterproofing system was installed, we then were able to finish the basement and re-create the usable space this couple had been accustomed to. We installed our Basement to Beautiful wall panels made with our SilverGlo rigid foam insulation embedded with metal studs. Over the top of that our EverLast wall panels which are also made from completely inorganic products. The finish floor was then installed using our Mill Creek flooring. The couple now had their dry, usable space back and could restore its use to showcase their wine collection as well as provide a much needed storage area.
