Woodland Village
Challenge
CleanSpace Northwest Inc. received a call from the Woodland Village Retirement and Assisted Living Facility in Chehalis, Wa. Mark, the General Manager of the facility informed us that they had a wet crawlspace under their main building and needed a drainage solution as soon as possible. Upon inspection by our System Design Specialist Bruce Ramey it was determined that all 3 wings of the 35,000 square foot crawlspace under the facility had water, moisture, and drainage issues.
Solution
Bruce was able to design a solution to address the issues that were of concern to the customer. We installed 3 TripleSafe Sump Systems (each of which includes a battery back- up system), one for each wing of the building along with almost 1000 lineal feet of drainage trenches that included our EZ Flow piping system. This was installed to address the water intrusion and manage the ground water seepage. We also installed 35,000 square feet of drainage matting and our 10 mil CleanSpace Light vapor barrier throughout. This was done to help lower humidity levels and reduce the possibility of mold, rot and odors. During the installation of our systems our crew was able to identify 3 plumbing leaks that were repaired by the on-site maintenance staff. Woodland Village now has a totally different crawlspace environment under their building. We will continue to monitor the crawlspace installation through our annual maintenance program to insure that all systems operate as they should for many years to come.
